The author speaks from the point of view of a person who stutters as well as one well read in the research surrounding cause, nature and treatment of stuttering. I would be interested to hear from families of and people who stutter to see if this book is an appropriate, in-depth, resource for them as well. This review is from: Stuttering: An Integrated Approach to Its Nature and Treatment (3rd Edition) (Hardcover) I am using this book for one of my second year undergrad Speech Pathology classes and I am very pleased. This book is extremely easy to read yet it contains a lot of detail. It puts you in the shoes of a "stutterer" or "person who stutters", and it also puts you in the shoes of a Speech Therapist. It is very relatable. This is one of the first textbooks that I actually enjoy reading, it is hard to put down. Fascinating information about the world of stuttering; its causes, affects and treatments. I just wish that more people who stuttered would see a Speech Therapist so we could gather even more information about this rare speech disorder.
