Previously owned would be okay if the access code has not been used. You are simply buying an access code with a cardboard cover as packaging. From inside the front cover: "The student access code above is redeemable one time only! Once you have used this code to register for MyMathLab, it cannot be used again. If the tab covering your access code was pulled back when you received this kit, the code may no longer be valid. In that case, you can purchase access online using a credit card. Go to (the CourseCompass website), click the Register button for students, and follow the on-screen instructions." Supplies) If I wasn't forced to buy it, I wouldn't. I have to say that if you're disciplined enough to take an online course, you could do much worse than this. The problems are worked out for you in the examples. The quizzes use the same scenarios as the homework, except with different values. If you write down the scenarios, you can substitute the values and you've essentially got the answers written down. You still have to essentially know the material, though. It was pretty simple to navigate through, but the way it tried to explain some things (like continuity corrections for prob and stat) seemed to be too passive. If you're completely lost in a math class, I think that this might help, but it won't be a panacea for your math woes. For online classes, though, it definitely wouldn't hurt. I didn't like that it took for granted that you could do certain things on a calculator, too. If you're going to do an example, DO THE EXAMPLE. Don't just give me the answer... Supplies) This product is great. You do your homework from it. It has pre-tests. You can come out of the exam as long as u do not submit it and go back and review similar problems that will help you. You can ace every test. |
