This book and online resource was required for a 101 course, and more than one-third of the class bailed in the first three weeks because of the online glitches. I've been using MS Office for a decade; and I thought I'd update on Microsoft Office 2007. The online resources are so full of glitches that it teaches you to fear the next step. Flip side: This could be a truly great resource if they get the glitches out. (May 2010) BEWARE: New copies come with an access code to online training and testing. However, if you buy a used copy for a college course, the access code is already used, and you must allow $65 for a new access code. Don't be fooled! They have you do the same thing over and over. Maybe its to drill it in but it gets quite boring. They also need to give full size examples of what the given document is supposed to look like at the end of the chapter. They make it microscopic so you can hardly read it. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: Concise, well-written, over-priced, By This review is from: GO! with Microsoft Office 2007 Introductory (3rd Edition) (Spiral-bound) This particular text is well-written and concise but geared for use in the high school or community college setting not as a professional, office-setting reference manual. It is my opinion that the price point on the book is unethically overpriced and should not be selling for more than $30-40 at most -- compared to other books in the same market. |
