GO! with Microsoft Office 2007 Introductory (3rd Edition) Reviews
This review is from: GO! with Microsoft Office 2007 Introductory (3rd Edition) (Spiral-bound)
Great book and cd resources; but the online testing and training resources are so full of glitches that they should be avoided. This book and online resource was required for a 101 course, and more than one-third of the class bailed in the first three weeks because of the online glitches.
I've been using MS Office for a decade; and I thought I'd update on Microsoft Office 2007. The online resources are so full of glitches that it teaches you to fear the next step. Flip side: This could be a truly great resource if they get the glitches out. (May 2010)
BEWARE: New copies come with an access code to online training and testing. However, if you buy a used copy for a college course, the access code is already used, and you must allow $65 for a new access code. Don't be fooled!
If you're trying to earn a grade, the online training and tests have too many glitches. The many little glitches (no stoppers) irritate and confound students, eat up hours,... Read more

I have found this series to be well written but kind of tedius. They have you do the same thing over and over. Maybe its to drill it in but it gets quite boring. They also need to give full size examples of what the given document is supposed to look like at the end of the chapter. They make it microscopic so you can hardly read it.

This particular text is well-written and concise but geared for use in the high school or community college setting not as a professional, office-setting reference manual. It is my opinion that the price point on the book is unethically overpriced and should not be selling for more than $30-40 at most -- compared to other books in the same market.

Human Anatomy & Physiology with IP-10 CD-ROM (7th Edition) Reviews
This review is from: Human Anatomy & Physiology with IP-10 CD-ROM (7th Edition) (Hardcover)
This is an excellent book. However the reason I gave it an eye catching 1 star with 'Save Your Money' tag is because I think it is best to get the older version or the 6th edition. The 6th ed. is the blue and white cover book with Apolo Ohno on it. It will be much cheaper than the 7th ed. I checked the 6th ed. out of my library while waiting on my 7th ed. to come in the mail. When my 7th ed. Serena Williams came in the mail, I decided to go thru both books at the same time and see for myself if there were any differences or variations. The only real differences that I found was of course the huge price difference, change of cover photo and just a tad bit more pages, but the most important thing is that both books are the exact same thing from beginning to end with the exact illustrations. I know that alot of the 7th ed.s come with the IP or Interactive Physiology cd. Truth is, alot of professors will give this IP to you for free if you ask. They have their own password that... I was hesitant about buying a book over the internet but the book I purchased was in great condition. I had purchased a "used" book in the midrange price and asked for priority shipping. The book didnt even look like it had ever been used and was in great condition. I paid 1/3 the price they were asking for from the college bookstore. The book arrived 5 days after I purchased it, including the weekend and a Holiday on Monday. Human Anatomy & Physiology with IP-10 CD-ROM (7th Edition)

This review is from: Human Anatomy & Physiology with IP-10 CD-ROM (7th Edition) (Hardcover)
I previously purchased the e-book of the 9th edition of this book for my first section of A&P and absolutely hated it. Only one slow loading page at a time could be viewed. On top of that, most of the info was presented in the lab manual, but MORE concise! I only purchased the e-book for one semester as even in that crap form it was freaking expensive.
I don't mind reading a good story leisurely on the computer, but I haven't been able to tolerate reading any textbooks, aside from chemistry, on them. So, I ordered the older edition for less than 1/3 of the original and cheaper than the one-semester e-book. And it's the.same.book. Same illustrations. Same everything, except for a cover change and a different color palet.
Save that cash, for when you're degreed and unemployed like me(getting even more degrees :-P)!
